Call for papers

You are cordially invited to participate in the 12th International Symposium on Educational Technology (ISET 2026) to be held at Peking University in Beijing, China during 28 to 31 July 2026.
Broadly covering instructional technology, information and communication technology for educational purposes, educational technology aims to enhance learning flexibility, improve learning effectiveness and enrich learning experience. It has become an irreversible force driving changes in teaching and learning practices, fundamentally reshaping content delivery, pedagogical approaches, and the learning ecosystem to prepare for the education of tomorrow.
ISET 2026 aims to provide a platform for knowledge exchange and experience sharing among researchers and practitioners in the field. The symposium theme is "Technological Innovations for Future Education." Original papers reporting the latest research findings and novel applications of technological innovation for teaching and learning are welcome. ISET 2026 covers topics related to educational technology including, but not limited to:

  • Adaptive and Personalized learning systems
  • AI and Generative AI in education

  • E-learning and online learning
  • Future classroom and Smart learning environments
  • Game-based learning
  • Immersive and Simulation-based learning

Paper Submission

Original papers should be written in English and submitted by 31 March 2026 via Microsoft CMT (https://cmt3.research.microsoft.com/isedtech2026).

Format: Your paper should follow the IEEE's two-column proceedings format. ISET 2026 uses a DOUBLE-BLIND review process. Submissions (including citations and figures) must not contain information that identifies the authors, their institutions, funding sources, or their places of work. Relevant previous work by the authors must be cited in the third person to preserve anonymity. Failure to anonymize submissions will result in desk rejection.

Length: Submissions should be approximately 4 to 5 pages for regular papers, and 2 to 3 pages for short papers.

Publication: The Symposium Proceedings will be published by the IEEE Computer Society CPS and accepted papers will be submitted for inclusion into the IEEE Xplore, IEEE CSDL and EI indexing subject to meeting IEEE Xplore's scope and quality requirements (subject to confirmation).

Awards: Best/Excellent Paper Awards will be granted to authors of papers with exceptional merit.

Journal Recommendation: Selected high-quality papers will be recommended for publication in relevant international journals.

Conference Registration and Attendance: To ensure the integrity of the conference program and proceedings, the following registration policies will be strictly enforced: (1) Each accepted paper must be accompanied by at least one full conference registration by the registration deadline; (2) It is mandatory for at least one author of an accepted paper to attend the conference in person to present their work; and (3) Papers that are not registered or are not presented in person during the scheduled session will be removed from the final conference proceedings. Exceptions to this policy will only be made in extreme, unforeseen circumstances, and require prior written approval from the Technical Programme Chairs.
